Regional Head: Retail Investments, Johannesburg

Location: Johannesburg / South Gauteng
Reporting to: Head of Distribution

Foord is seeking an experienced business development manager to join its small  national retail distribution team. The role involves maintaining and growing relationships with financial advisers, wealth managers, discretionary fund managers and other retail investment intermediaries in Johannesburg and South Gauteng.

The ideal candidate

• Has a strong track record in retail investment distribution and an established network in the Johannesburg adviser market
• Understands collective investment schemes, multi-asset investing and global funds
• Has practical experience with investment platforms, including fund onboarding, fee classes, adviser model portfolios and investment wrappers
• Is commercially astute, credible in investment discussions and an effective communicator
• Is a self-starter, comfortable working from a home office while contributing to Foord's collegiate working environment
• Is professional, organised and committed to long-term client relationships

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective advisers and intermediaries
• Identify new business opportunities and promote Foord's investment products
• Present to advisers, facilitate meetings with investment professionals and represent Foord at industry events
• Work with the national distribution team on client-service plans and business development initiatives
• Maintain accurate client records, contact and follow-ups in Foord's CRM system

A relevant tertiary qualification is required. Appropriate industry qualifications and regulatory credentials would be advantageous.

The role is Johannesburg-based, with regional travel and occasional national travel.
